Review & Giveaway: tonies® Toniebox
As a Mum of four, three who are very close in age, bedtime can be a bit of a nightmare. Whilst with Lewis I had all the time in the world to focus my attention on his bedtime story each night, with Eva, Megan and Harry it is physically impossible to do the same unless I stagger bedtime which we soon learned just wasn’t an option! For that reason I am always looking for ways to make story time that little bit easier, without splitting myself in three, and when we were sent the new tonies® Toniebox, it seemed like the answer to my problems!

What is the tonies® Toniebox?
The Toniebox is unlike anything I have ever seen before and is basically a soft children’s audio box, perfect for snuggling up to, designed to tell stories or play music in a fun, interactive way. You simply use Tonie audio characters alongside the box, placing them on the top of the Toniebox to play the content, which adds such a fun and unique element as well as sparking their imagination. You or your child can even record your own stories to play back up to 90 minutes of audio.

What’s inside?
The Toniebox Starter Set is a great starting point for introducing tonies® to your children and inside is everything you need to get started –
One Toniebox (available in a choice of grey, green, pink, red, blue, and purple).
A Creative Tonie
A charging station.
An easy to follow instruction manual.
So how does the Toniebox work?

At first we struggled to connect our Toniebox to our wifi (our wifi is a little dodgy!) but after a couple of attempts we managed to set it up and once you’ve cracked that the rest is simple. To change the volume you simple squeeze the bigger ear to turn it up, or the smaller ear to turn it down.

To fast forward you tip to the right, to rewind tip to the left, and to change tracks or stories you tap on either side of the Toniebox to skip backwards and forwards. It really is that easy!

As well as the Starter Set we received two of the Tonie figures – The Little Mermaid and The Snowman (my favourite) which you place on top and you’re good to go. When it comes to adding your own audio to the Tonie figure the instructions on the app are fool proof, even I managed it with no trouble!

So what did we think?
My children adore story time, and music too, so it’s safe to say the Toniebox has fast become a real favourite. They love taking it in turns to choose a story or a song and have been recording their own audios to add to the Tonie figure which has been both hilarious and heart warming at the same time.

Personally I love that the Toniebox is a great way for the children to enjoy a bedtime story, or occupy them on a car journey, without the need for me having to read the same books over and over, and I think it’s great for inspiring them to be more creative, work on their vocabularies, phonics, and the art of story telling. It also has a seven hour battery life which will be something I am very grateful for on our next long car journey or sick day and the fact you can use it wirelessly is a real selling point for me!

The Toniebox retails at £69.95 with Tonies costing £14.99 for additional books and songs. My only concern is that without an extensive collection of Tonies the children may soon tire of the same stories, that said with the 90 minutes of audio space on the Tonie figure included there is potential to download audio files and music independently.
