At this time of year it feels as though everyone is talking about getting their bodies ready for Summer. Every year I struggle with these phrases, with all of this talk of “bikini bodies” and ways to lose a stone in 30 days, and I feel as though it is incredibly unhealthy. The truth is, anyone can have a bikini body if you simply put on a bikini. The difficult part is that, because of all this pressure to look good and conform to being a size 6, man of us are left feeling extremely self conscious and instead choose to cover up. I guess I’m here to tell you that anyone can wear a bikini, and thanks to Simply Beach there is something out there for every size, shape, age and style.
For athletic figures
Let’s face it, athletic figures look great in a bikini but that doesn’t mean that every woman with an athletic figure feels great in her bikini. I know I am naturally slim but I feel very self conscious in my bikini and it has taken me years to find a style which really works for me. I am a huge fan of bandeau bikinis which really suit a slender figure as well as those with a smaller bust. Bandeau bikinis tend to offer less support but you can get many styles with detachable straps to add a little extra boost!
For curvier ladies
I think many curvy ladies shy away from wearing a bikini which is sad, but I totally get that for many it’s a confidence thing. Simply Beach have some fantastic styles for to really highlight your curves while still providing support and coverage. If you’re trying to give the impression of a more streamlined figure steer clear of string bikinis, and loud patterns, and if you’re wanting to highlight your shape think block colours, high waists and halter neck tops.
For Mums To Be
Pregnancy is tough, and feeling comfortable and confident is so important. Simply Beach have a fab range of tankinis which are a great alternative to a bikini whilst pregnant. They give ample room for your ever growing belly, sun protection, and can be mixed and matched so you can create different looks with just a couple of sets.
For Those With Body Hang Ups
I think we all have body hang ups from time to time and I think the main thing is to draw attention the areas you like and away from the ones you don’t. so if you’re conscious of your bottom half go for dark block colours with a brightly coloured bikini top, or if you’re conscious of your bottom maybe go for a boy shorts design with fuller coverage. For those with tummy hang ups who really can’t bear to wear a bikini, a full swim suit with a knotted effect or ruching is so flattering!
As for me? I’m going to make sure I rock my bikini this spring during our first planned break to Italy. Life is way too short isn’t it?
