Gazillion Giant Power Wand – review!

Out of all of the expensive toys we have bought the children, I have never seen them get as excited over them as they do over bubbles. Every birthday party we go to, when they receive their party bag at the end, they scramble around in there desperately hoping to find bubbles, while I stand there desperately hoping that they don’t. Because as much as they enjoy making bubbles, I don’t enjoy cleaning up the soapy aftermath, wiping sticky hands, rinsing eyes and mouths when, inevitably, they end up getting it everywhere!

So when we were asked to review the Gazillion Giant Power Wand, I wasn’t overly keen on the idea. “Oh wow what’s that?” Eva had exclaimed, when she had seen the wand up on my computer screen, “Can we have one??”. And I think sometimes you just have to accept that soapy hands and sticky handprints aren’t such a big deal in the grand scheme of things, and knowing just how happy the bubbles would make my children, I agreed to the review and we excitedly awaited their delivery.

The Gazillion Power Wand uses premium bubbles to create bigger and better bubbles, available in both original and Big Bubble solutions, in 8oz, 2 litre and 4 litre refills. The Wand comes with the 8oz refill which filled the bubble tray perfectly. After inserting the batteries, which are not included, the wand uses a motorised mechanism to create bubbles at the touch of a button. The idea is to place the wand in the bubble solution, lift it up, press the button and off you go!

Our initial attempt did not go to plan. On lifting the wand from the tray the solution simply dripped down and popped before we had the chance to make a bubble. This happened repeatedly with the majority of the solution being wasted before we had created a single bubble. Eventually we found that the wand does not work well in the wind, so we waited until later in the afternoon when the wind had died down and tried again, and this time we were able to create the biggest bubbles we have ever seen!

Sadly the solution ran out after just a few minutes and the fun was over, much to the children’s disappointment. I would have loved the wand to come with a larger bottle of the solution as 8oz really doesn’t go very far at all. That said, the children’s disappointment was proof of just how much they loved the bubble wand, and I have promised to buy them one of the larger refills at the weekend.

I am sure that over the summer months when we are spending more time outdoors, this will be a firm favourite! And as much as the children loved creating the bubbles, it came as no surprise to me that their favourite part was popping them!!

The Gazillion Giant Power Wand is available here from Argos, priced at £12.99.

Wow, my daughter goes nuts for bubbles and she would go totally mental over this, reasonably priced but a tad dissapointing on the solution front!

There’s something about bubbles isn’t there?! My two will play for hours in the garden with a bottle of bubbles. I think we will have to get one of these for this summer 🙂

The kids like playing with and making bubbles in the nice weather. This looks like so much fun and perfect for them! Very reasonably priced too 🙂

My girls are just the same with bubbles, they love them and I have a love/hate relationship with them too. Alice would absolutely love this, they are big bubbles!! Shame it ran out so quickly, a larger bottle would’ve been better. Eva looks just like you in the picture with the large bubble in front of her! x #KCACOLS

It’s mad how much enjoyment Children can get from things so simple! The other mums and I always talk at playgroups how the children would be far happier with an empty room and a load of bubbles! Great review 🙂
