Some Great Ways to Stage Your Home to Sell Fast

I was stunned to learn, the other day, that the average Brit moves home 8 times during their lifetime and the average American relocates at least 11 times. Any way you look at it that is a lot of moving.

Given the fact that moving house is quite expensive you need to secure a good price, each time you sell up. That means that you need to know how to stage your home well. Making sure that your house, or flat, looks its best in the agent´s photos and when potential buyers view your home is essential. That means learning how to stage your home properly. There are several ways you can do it, below, is my summary of the best ways to do it.

Hire the professionals

By far the easiest approach is to hire a company like Emblem Furniture to take care of most of the process for you. Firms like this rent out high-quality furniture, ornaments, soft furnishings and other items. You can use to give your home a fresh, modern, look that will make your house far more attractive to potential buyers. When people are looking for a new place to live they are usually in aspirational mode and trying to buy a nicer home than the one they already own. Therefore, a property that is decorated in a modern way will attract more potential buyers.

Do it yourself

If you do not have the budget to hire a professional, do not worry because you can still do it yourself. In most cases, you can get everything done in a few weekends, less if your home is already in a good state of repair.

Basically, all you need to do is to go through each room de-clutter, deep clean and touch up the décor where necessary. In some cases, you will want to update some of the soft furnishings to create a more modern feel. Of course, you need to be organized, but you can get a lot done in a short period of time. Usually, two or three weekends will be plenty of time.

Get friends and family to help you

If you are short on time it is always asking friends and family to give you a hand. Potentially they can help you with deep cleaning, taking unwanted items to the dump, tidying up the garden and helping you with the repainting. After a couple of hours work, most of what needs to be done will be finished. Then you can give everyone a nice meal as a way of thanking them for their time and effort. In the summer months, a barbecue can be a good idea. It is a relatively easy style of food to cook and making sure that everyone´s tastes are properly catered for is not hard when you cook on a large grill.

Great article! Moving is SO MUCH WORK! We just did it a couple of years ago and will need to do it again within the next year. I always go DIY for things like staging the house and packing. I hire movers to move only the furniture and I move the boxes myself to save money. I only hire a cleaner to clean the windows, and I do all the cleaning out myself. Friends and family are such a big help!

This post reminded me of the show, Open House Overhaul! And usually the trend is, buyers want something like a magazine photo came to life then you’re sold.

Very helpful article as selling property is sometimes a big task. Proper advertising and hiring of professional is required. Also mouth of word helps a lot in selling a house
