When I received my Bostik box this month, part of a year long project we are involved in as Bostik bloggers, and realised the theme was bird, I knew exactly what we would make. If there is one nursery rhyme that Harry loves it is this:-
Two little dickie birds sitting on a wall,One named Peter, one named Paul.Fly away, Peter! Fly away, Paul!Come back, Peter! Come back, Paul!
And so with that in mind, we set about to create our very own Dickie birds that we could use as part of our nursery rhymes together.
You will need:
Bostik Glu Dots or foam pads,
Sequins or similar to decorate,
Two “googly eyes”,
Two lollipop sticks,
An assortment of feathers,
Two foam birds (either pre-cut or design your own).
Our feathers were wired so we simply pushed the wire end through the tail of the bird and wrapped it round being careful to make sure that any sharp ends were pushed safely under. If your feathers are not wired you can simply glue them into place.
Next we stuck on eyes and our decorations, using Bostik Glu Dots for less mess – bonus!!
With the birds decorated, and only a few of the jewels making it onto Harry’s face (standard!) we were almost done!
To finish we attached a lollipop stick to the back of each bird using the Glu Dots, turning our birds into two little puppets.
The finished bird was so simple but, I’m sure you will agree, very effective.
Harry was so pleased with himself and instantly launched into a rendition of Two Little Dickie Birds……on repeat!!!
